Student Visa
Requirements To Process The I-20 Form
- Fill out the “I-20 Application Form”.
- Carefully read and sign the Orlando Language School’s policies.
- Provide us with a bank letter stating that the applicant has sufficient funds to study and support him or herself in The United States for the period of time he/she wants to be studying. If the applicant has a family member who wants to be his/her sponsor, that person should provide us with a letter saying that he/she will be sponsoring the student.
How can you determine how much money you need on the bank letter?
All International Students have to be enrolled in the Super Intensive Program, which is from Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The price for that program is $575 (4 weeks of classes / 80 hours). You should also add to that amount the cost of living abroad: a place to live (hotel, apt. or home-stay), transportation, food, etc. This is approximately $850 monthly.
Example: If you ask for a one-year Visa, then you will need:
$475 x 12 = $5,700 + living costs $850 x 12 = $10,200 with a grand total of $15,900.
The example above refers to one person only and is an approximation. If you have a dependant, then you need to add the cost for living expenses for this person for each month. - Passport photocopy.
- If the applicant should have a sponsor, the sponsor needs to fill out and notarize the “Affidavit of Support” form and provide us with the bank letter mentioned above.
- To process the I-20 form we charge a $380 fee (not refundable in any circumstances).
We accept payments made with cash, American Express, Visa, MasterCard or checks.
If the applicant is outside of the US, it is possible to make a money transfer to: Orlando Language School; Bank: Suntrust; Account #: 1000084021558, ABA: 061000104, SWIFT: SNTRUS3A. If the payment is done by credit card, the applicant needs to fill out the “Credit Card Authorization Form”.
Orlando Language School recommends that students secure a health insurance plan in their home country before traveling to the United States.
After the I-20 application is approved by the USCIS we will provide to the student:
- Original I-20 form signed by the designated school officer and to be signed by the applicant.
- Copy of the SEVIS payment receipt.
- Copy of the bank letter and the affidavit of support signed by the sponsor (if applicable).
- Letter of enrollment at Orlando Language School.
- Copy of the school policies signed by the student.
Notes:
- To those who wish to apply for the F-1 Visa in their home country:
Once the applicant has all the documents he/she has to schedule and go to an interview at the American Consulate in his/her own country or country of residence. Only they can approve the Student Visa (F-1), which, if approved, will be stamped in the applicant’s passport and I-20 form.
- To those who wish to apply for the F-1 Visa by a change of status in the USA:
Please consult an immigration lawyer to see if you are legible for a change of status and what types of documents will be required.
Orlando Language School is not responsible for your change of status and cannot guarantee its approval by the USCIS.
* If the applicant cannot come to OLS to pick up the documents listed above, the school will send them by mail at an extra charge.
USCIS stands for United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
